I grew up going to every bookstore and library my mom could find. She was an avid historical romance reader. She encouraged me to read and signed me up for every summer reading program available in our small town. While I completed the programs, I didn’t really enjoy them. It wasn’t until I found romance novels for myself that my love for reading exploded.
Now at 43 I have written one novel and am working on my second one.
Where are you from?
“I grew up and still live in Pennsylvania, USA.”
What is your favorite genre to read/write?
“I write what I love to read: Contemporary Romance. I especially love small town and rural fiction, however will read any contemporary romance.”
What books or authors have most influenced your own writing?
“I love the authors: Nora Roberts, Robyn Carr and Debbie Macomber”
Who/What inspired Finding It All (Finding Happiness In Harmony Book 1)?
“I wanted to write a story with a female main character that found more than just love, but a best friend, family and happiness.”
What is the significance of the title?
“It describes the journey of the main character. She found everything she had been looking for.”
Tell us about the process for coming up with the cover.
“Coming up with the cover for “Finding It All” was a very long process. I started with looking for a picture of a woman and man, but none of the photos I found accurately depicted the characters I pictured in my imagination. I switched gears and went for more of an animated design to give the reader a sense of sweet love and happiness.”
Is there any new release we can expect in 2021 or in the future?
“I am working on book 2 of the series, Finding Happiness In Harmony. I plan to release it before the end of 2021.”
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
“Love I feel and see all around me.”
What do you think makes a great story?
“I love stories that have realistic conflict and a happy ending. I am easily annoyed when reading a book that I feel includes unrealistic drama between characters.”
What advice can you give to an unpublished author?
“Be proud of every word you write. The value of your work is what you believe it is worth, not what others value it at.”
